Go Downhill Skiing in a Mall

The Mall of the Emirates is currently the largest mall in the Middle East but with all the other malls going up in Dubai it will not hold that title for long.  At 2,400,000 square feet it does not even come close to the largest mall in the world which is the South China Mall in Dongguan, China at 7,100,000 square feet. The mall boasts a 14-screen movie theatre, a gaming arena and a dramatic theatre but what sets it apart from the other malls in the world is Ski Dubai – an indoor ski hill.
    Ski Dubai has an area of 22,500 meters that is covered with real snow year round.  It has five runs that vary in height, gradient and degree of difficulty with the longest being 400 meters.  This mall attraction claims to be the largest, indoor snow park in the world with a capacity of 1500 guests. In order to maintain skier comfort the temperature is kept at a mild -1 to -2 degrees Celsius. They also have a ski and snowboard rental shop along with professional instructors.
    The ski hill, which is literally a winter playground in the middle of the desert, is separated from the mall by a huge Plexiglas wall.  It has a chair lift, bunny hill, and a main hill for skiing, tobogganing and snowboarding. The entrance price includes a lift pass, rental equipment and a ski suit, but gloves, goggles and a locker rental are sold separately.
